Adam Weatherby announced today that Weatherby has brought out the baddest and fastest 6.5 on the market today and faster by 100fps than any other cartridge made in 6.5 caliber along with a new designed MarkV just for it. 37 year old wild cat design was brought to life as a new factory round and rifle chambered for it.

It is a Necked down 300Wby from what I've read the guys over on the Nation have been crying for one for a long time before Nosler developed the 26.

Radius shoulder, belt, Weatherby cost, about the same case capacity as the 26 nosler. Not seeing the benifit here, just saying.their listed velocities show higher than nosler loads and data but look at what double tap shows for 127, 129, and 140s. All faster than these. Looks like marketing to me.

A 264 bee?????????????????????
Yes Buddy they finally adopted one that was a wild cat for 1000yd matches. What gets me is Wby gave a lot of hype that the Nation would be the first to know but they had already put it into the hands of Outdoor Life to review before they released it as promised claiming the Wby Nation would be the first to know and maybe they were as it could have been released prior to press time.

I do like the long neck on it and the Weatherby freebore will definitely help the long bullets.

I also appreciate the longer neck on it, it is supposed to help with less throat erosion.

How long till Fotis and maybe even JD338 get one? :)

They would have to order one now to get it by next year this time threw an authorized dealer.
But would think Jim would be the first since he could retire the Rum and have less recoil for those long range crop damage deer shots.

I'm waiting to see what the exact improvements are for the Mark V. I find that those may be just as exciting, if not more so, than the "new" caliber.

If they truly guarantee sub-moa for the new ULW rifles that would really be something.

Throat erosion? Like a Ferrari driver worried about gas mileage. Lol

The next logical step is a 6.5-378 Weatherby. ...

Sent from the edge of my galaxy

I really wanted them to do a 6.5-257, much like McWhorter did. A sane round. However, it wouldn't provide a higher velocity than the 26 Nosler, which appears to be the goal.

I think they aren't planning Nosler loads yet because you can't get the components!

With the 130s it's 125 FPS faster than my 264 WM .

Impressive but I think I'll stick to the 264.

A 6.5-378 would be a screamer though.

Guess who here at Nosler said on another forum they were ordering one and as a hint he named them Bee for short.
