Stopped by the gunsmiths place today while scouting for Bear (We found a brute) and he had the stock FINALLY! He can now finally, complete the rifle. I'm looking forward to how it performs. The specs are as follows:

Remington 700 LASS
Hart 29" 1:8 twist Hunter Benchrest Contour
Jewelle Trigger @1lb.
McMillan A3 Stock W/adjustable Cheek piece
Nesika 20 MOA Base
Kelbly Rings
1" Limbsaver Recoil Pad
Topped with a Leupold VX-III 6.5x20 EFR (Nightforce is in the near future)
Done by Truman Wilson (970-874-3030)

I have 200 pieces Lapua brass, 200 140 gr. Berger Hybrids, 100 140 gr. Berger VLD's and 100 130 gr.VLD's read to load. I'm hoping the 140 Hybrid's give a velocity of 2800 ft/s and <1/2 MOA. Anyone have any advice with the 140 Hybrids? The rifle was supposed to be done by now but McMillan delayed the process. Should be done soon! I will keep you updated on it's performance!

Thanks in advance!

2800 should not be a problem with a 29" barrel and H4350, I am getting that out of my .260 with a 24" barrel. I understand the .260 has a bit more capacity but the 47 runs at a higher pressure. The two are nearly i dentical, having owned both I havent seen much of a difference between the two in regards to velocity.
As far as the hybrids go I have found them more accomodating than the vld's when it comes to overall length. start a thousandths off the lands and increase if need be until you find your accuracy node.

Nice! What's the mix on your stock?

I hope I don't regret not getting an adjustable cheek piece on my A3...

Thanks for the Hybrid info.

It's coloring is 50% medium blue, 25% dark blue, 25% white. I don't think you'll regret the adjustable cheek piece, I love them.

G'Day Fella's,

.300WinMag, as USMC 89 states (and no shortage of others), H-4350 (or equivalent powder) is the powder of choice with the 140grain bullets (if not all bullet weights) in the 6.5 x 47 Lapua!
I've only put a couple of dozen bullets thru my 6.5 x 47 Lapua rifle, and I'm very happy that I have yet another rifle, that's more accurate than me!!!

Hope that helps

Doh!

This type of rifle isn´t my style....However I can tell this rifle is no compromise, no nonsens and bullxhit either. I owe the deepest respect for someone who has done his homework and sits down, take the time is needed and "work it out" to get what he wants, and no shortcuts through the woods either. A perfect setup, buildt for pin point accuracy.
