6.8 Western Nosler loaded factory load data.

Welcome from another BC boy and 6.8 Western shooter. Nosler doesn't have any data that I'm aware of but Hodgdon does as I'm sure you are aware. They have 165 gr ABLR data but for the 170 gr Ballistic Tip I've worked up slowly using their data for the 170 gr Berger and 175 gr Sierra TGK. In my gun I ended up somewhere in between those two, the Berger develops a bit less pressure and the charge weight will be more the the 170 gr Ballistic Tip in my experience.

Cheers. I was looking at your pics and was thinking that had to be a B.C. bear before I saw where you are from. I just got back from an unsuccessful Moose draw for 5-1 I saw so many does it was crazy. I saw the biggest black bear I have ever seen. Looked like a black Volkswagon beetle ripping up a farmers field. I sooo wanted to take it but was standing beside the no hunting sign. Had two other bears in my sights, one was a little small I felt and the other cinnamon would have been perfect if it wasn't running away at full speed. I'm currently trying to develop a load for the 6.8 using Hammer 160 grn HHT's The gun likes the factory 165 ABLR's and I may develop a load for them but I'm hoping to set up a good copper round.

Hope you keep us up to date. Haven't tried the Hammer's yet but have heard great things about them.
I just moved from the Skeena valley this spring to the Shuswap. Just starting to explore this new area now.

Too bad about the moose draw, hopefully next time they will cooperate. Hopefully you can get out closer to home for some hunting still.

Heading up to the Anarchist summit for deer opening. Then November I have a cow elk draw in the Christian valley.

Good luck, hope it turns out well for you. Maybe you'll have your 160 gr HHT load ready by then.
