7.62X54 Russian Cheap plinker or a money pit - opinions? I can get one for 90 bucks. Worth it? CL
 
That depends on what you want to do with it. If you are looking for a "plinker", it's one option for sure, they do however have a pretty good thump to them, but its not unbearable. Some shoot suprising well too, and ammo can be gotten for a fairly good deal.
They are a liitle on "cool" side in my opinion too. Just limit the extra's and options, its no AR platform....
BTW is it a Nagant Carbine or Rifle?

Yep thanks Norm. the Rifle in question is that. I spent some time looking at Modifications to various Nagants on youtube. For what I would want (scope mount, turned bolt, shortened barrel, different stock - you can find lotsa cool mods if you look) it would actually be cheaper to buy an "Axis" or used MR-7 in 243. For cheap plinking a 22MAG is still as cheap. Thanks For the answer Norm. CL
