You guys that have tried the above powders are you seeing any differences between the two? I'm assuming that the ssc is a short cut version of the above. Is that supposed to help it no fluctuate in different weather temps?

The "short cut" powders just meter through powder measures easier. Kind of nice actually!

I have not tried anything but the 7828SSC, but I have a friend who said he picked up some velocity from regular 7828 when he switched up to the SSC. Not sure why, but perhaps the SSC burns more efficiently or something, based on surface area?

Than can happen between lot #'s of identical powders easily.

No difference, SC (short cut) meters real nice.
I've only used 4831SC.

Yeah, lot numbers are different, but then again, he is on his third can of SSC, and still getting the higher velocities. I am pretty sure, having been with him the last time he bought it, that all three cans were not the same lot. Go figure. Maybe he is being more careful with his loading, or something else has changed, I don't know. I will be trying out some SSC later this fall, I can tell you that much.

I use 7828 & 7828ssc interchangably in my 260ai, 280 & 7mmDakota. Accuracy is identical & vel. too. The nice thing about ssc is I don;t have to crush it to get a slightly compressed charge in my 260ai.
