Turns out my 7mm-08 shoots a 150 gr BT best with 45.5 gr of IMR-4831.

What is the velocity? That is great to be able to use that bullet

That was the 1st bullet I used in my 7-08 when I converted from my 7RM. They were what I used in the 7RM and I was too cheap to go out and buy something else.

Problem was....They Were Awesome !

I've had 100% first kills with them on whitetails and pigs for over a decade. Never recovered one.

I only switched over to 140's because I wanted something a little lighter for my 'Lope hunt and while the 150 DRT'd pigs, they tended to allow deer to cover some distance.

From my experience, I see no reason to go to a 'Premium' bullet with your load.

Been playing with the 150 ELDX with mine as I’ve shot up all my NBT’s. I’ve gotten some great groups with both. 7mm-08 is a fantastic cartridge. Potent and efficient.

Great post and I'd love to know the speed on that 150 BT with 4831!

I do like the 7-08. Great cartridge!

I haven’t checked the velocity. This rifle is real picky about what it will shoot!
