Couldn’t get 140 gr Ballistic Tip to shoot for anything out of my 7mm-08 no matter what I tried and decided to try a 150 gr BT instead with H4350, what a difference going to a heavier bullet made. I need to run it again to confirm it.

I would say you're on to something. I had a Browning X bolt in .280 that loved the 150 BT's, would shoot them twice as good as a 140 or 160 AccuBond, but I wanted to shoot the AccuBond. I should've stayed with the 150 BT as it would've done anything I needed it to.

I had to do the same with both of my 7mm-08 rifles. I tried the 120 gr and 140 gr BT but nothing worked. I went to the 150 gr BT and everything came together.

When I bought my 7/08 all I had on hand was some left over 150 BT's from my 7RM days, so that is what I loaded up. A bit of RL-15 (at 2650 fps) and it isn't anything to have 3 shot's touching as long as I did my part. I can tell you this, Deer & Pigs don't like them worth a D@mn ! To date it remains my only 100% 1st shot, only shot needed load.

With results like that, I'd have no difficulty whatsoever switching to the heavier bullets. One of my 280s loves 139/140 grain bullets, shooting 150s so-so. However, I've never had a problem killing things that needed killing with the 139/140s. The other 280 is shooting 150s very well, indeed. I don't see the need to go to heavier bullets.

If you really want to have some fun with 150's, try Big Game with the 150 ELDX.

This is three shots at 100 yards. Pretty speedy for a 150.

This is the entrance on a decent 5x6 bull taken at 407 yards. The two shots low were follow-ups but the bull was dead on his feet.

Three bucks this year only needed one shot each.

That’s good shooting! I may have to give em a try

I was impressed. My hunting party killed seven animals this year with the ELDX, three elk and four deer. The only animal that took more than one shot was the aforementioned bull, my nephew's first. He learned to shoot until they fall, which explains the follow-ups.
Great performance and surprisingly little bloodshot.
Three deer and the bull, 150 ELDX from the 7mm-08, one deer and two elk with the 162 ELDX from a 7mm Rem Mag.

Any terminal results from the 150 ELD-X, I mean other than stone dead critters?

Congrats on what looks like an awesome fall?

Here's the lungs from one of the bucks:

That's the only pic I took of the damage.

I’m planning on picking up one of the Bergara B14’s this summer. Pretty set on the 7mm08 since I already have a 6.5 CM but it weighs a ton. Ill keep this thread in mind, and try out some 150’s.

That should be a great acquisition. The Bergara appears to be a fine rifle from all that I've read. They are certainly handsome.
