Grandson opted to try out the 7mm PRC a couple of years back and has had some success.
This years buck. Might have to load up some of the 160 grain Nosler Partitions in the future.
The 7mm PRC also caught my attention when it came out. However, I can't justify getting one since I have a 7mm Rem. Mag. and a 7mm WSM, both of which shoot well for me.
I picked up a 7mm PRC too, but have yet to take any game with it.
It does shoot the Federal Terminal Ascent ammo well (0.708" 3 shot groups @ 100 yards).
Still need to try the Federal 155 gr TA ammo, Nosler 160 gr AccuBond ammo and Barnes 180 gr TGK ammo for accuracy too.
I have 35 years of experience with the 7mm Rem Mag and 7MM STW with great success using 160/165 gr bullets on game ranging from antelope to elk, from 5 to 475 yards, so am anticipating that the 7mm PRC will continue to deliver similar on-game performance, with the additional penetrating qualities of the heavier bullets' higher SD #s.
