Spent part of the morning putting together some 7mm Rem Mag loads to test, hopefully soon.

Reloader 22
Federal 215's
Winchester cases
140 grain Nosler Accubonds

Looking good - soon I'll see how they shoot. Remington factory 140 gr ammo was promising.

With your knowledge, and expertise in reloading Guy, they'll be far superior than the factory loads, guaranteed.
The complete loaded round looks like it's a barn burner already. A thing of beauty.
Your #1 was an awesome deal. You will enjoy it more and more as time goes on.

I am sure you will love this bullet, it served me well. With those speeds nearing 3250 -3300 fps, the impact is devastating and should be enough for most North American game. Beautiful rifle Guy.
Look forward to your range results. (y)

Good looking round, love pictures like this. Good luck at the range Guy!

I am using the 160's in two 7mm caliber rifles, and love them.
I'd like to use the 140 gr AB and 160 gr AB in my .280, along with RL-26.

Have always had great performance with the 160gr AB in my STW, and the 140gr AB is doing well so far in the 7mm-08.
Looking forward to trying the 150gr AB in my 280! Have always used IMR 4350 inthe 280 with great results, and am looking forward to trying Re-26 in it.

Guy, 69.5 of Re 22 gives the 140 AB 3300 fps from 26" model 70. Same components you listed.

Good to know, thanks. (y)

I need to do some more load testing & shooting with this rifle, but if everything works out... I hope to use the 7mm Rem Mag Number One for all my "big game" hunting this year: elk, black bear, mule deer & pronghorn.

You will be pleasantly surprised Guy.
It's flat shooting, and hits hard.
Just remember to not aim like you're not shooting your '06.
I had a friend who ended up buying my 7mm RM after using his '06, and shot high almost every time.

Looks great guy. Those 140’s at 3250-3300 will fly a bit flatter than you dear 25-06 load and hit a might harder as well. Perfect load for some LR Duplex action. 0-600 all on the reticle!

Ya, I like this old 3-9x, after all I got it in 1974, we have some history.

But a newer scope would only help the rifle and shooter. I'm kinda thinking a 2.5-8x Leupold. We will see.

I saw in one of my reloading manuals that I can get my .280 Rem with 24 in barrel shooting 140 gr bullets going 3188 fps - 3250 fps. I can get the 150's going 3000 fps - 3100 fps. And 160 gr going 2900 fps to 3000 fps. Not too far behind the grand 7mm Rem Mag.
You should be able to eek out more velocity from that 26 in barrel Guy.

You'd have a heckuva time getting those sorta speeds from a 140 or 150 with less than a 26" barrel and something along the lines of RL26 at best. Not saying it can't be done but you'd be firewalling it pretty heavy. A 7 Rem on the other hand will do any of those fairly easily with a 24" barrel.

Not saying it cannot be done, I just haven't seen those sorta speeds from any 280 yet and had good case life/accuracy.
