I had been working with the Swift 150 a bit a few months ago. Kinda got some tips from you all they want some jump to the rifling. Well, I started at .050" and got bubkis.. Well, this time I backed them off to .1" and shot this today at 200 yards.

I was actually only looking for the most accurate powder charge during this range session, but if it repeats, I am pretty sure I am done. No sense in wasting more bullets, as I don't think I can shoot much better.. I'll have to work on the flyer though!

I ran three powder charges, 68, 69.5 and a 71. 68 was pretty good and 71 was opening up some. Overall, the old 7 still shoots. I will get a speed reading next time out, but it should be in the 3100 range.

Great work Scotty, a group like that at 200 yards will strike fear in anything animal you point that 7mm mag at !

Blessings,
Dan

Scotty I can't believe you missed that quarter 5 times. Other than that and the flier I would be satisfied also.

The Scirocco has performed quite well for me. In my 7RM, the 150 grain Scirocco gave me great service for many years before I shifted to the 175 grain TBBC and/or the 175 grain PT. Can't recall anything that would stand up to the Scirocco, however.

I always wanted to try MRP in several calibers. It always seems to be high up on the performance ranks in the Q/L printouts you do.
Scott

Good shooting - That's a flyer?!

Yeah, so far it looks real good Scott. It is very available for me here in Virginia. If the load reprints, I'll see if I can't lay into 8lbs of it.

Seems real good me Mike. Did it's work as advertised. No complaints. Plus with accuracy like that, it's hard to walk away from.

I agree that flyer needs work  . Very nice shooting buddy.

That looks really good Scotty, I hope we can get MRP here again like was said already it seems to always show well when you guys run Quickload.

I think this bullet will shoot well with any of the 7mm stand yes. It just likes to have some room. Man, when it comes together, its beautiful though.

I didn't pull off another group like yesterday, but it was still decent. I think I will tweak seating a little further in and see what happens.

At 200 yards

On a happier note, I ran nine rounds over the chrono. Got some very impressive speeds and I can't see a bad thing about the PSI's.

69.5 grains MRP, 150 Swift SII, CCI250, WW cases - 3234,3228, 3279, 3257, 3263, 3255, 3242, 3299, 3257

I'm impressed with that first group. My question about the Scirrocco II's is; How do they perform on thin skinned whitetail out to 400 yards? Do they provide traumatic terminal performance like a BT or SST? Or do they punch through pretty much like a heavy for caliber AccuBond?

Good stuff, Scotty. You are correct that velocities are impressive. I've observed that in other instances with the Sciroccos.

That's some very impressive speed Scotty - wonder what a 150ABLR would do with MRP?

Scott

That also explains why they performed a bit different than Lou's test, moving out about 150 fps faster. It does look like you are very close to a great load.

That's what I was thinking too Gerry. It might even be a little more as that is the factory rating for the load. Seems like it's very seldom factory ammo gets what they advertise.

I think they will open up just fine. I think they would probably mimic the ABs for the most part.

Scotty, I was just thinking the same thing pal, now that I see your velocity  ..Man, your pushing that swift probably 200fps faster than the factory loaded 150gr swift. It all makes sence now. Kinda like when I tested the AccuBond in the 270win and 270wsm, the 270win had more weight and a much nicer mushroom compared to the 270wsm.

Good shooting brother!

Lou
