I do not have the new Reloading manual and am wondering what the min and max loads are for the 160 gr AccuBond with H4831sc and RL 22. Anyone have the new book?

Thanks.

Chad

Chad, I believe 63gr is max charge for RL22 with the 160's. I believe if you ask Mike or Jake, they will run a Quick Load for you. Never used H4831 for the 7RM. I have used 66gr's of RL22 with no issues in MY rifle, work up slowly though. Good luck, I would be around 64-66gr's you will find a load in the 3K range with excellent accuracy. Scotty

I worked up to 66 grains of RL22 in my 7RM mag and it shoots awsome, accurate and good velocity with the 160 grain AccuBond.

Must be an Eastern Washington thing... I generally like 65 gr of RL-22 and a good 160 gr bullet with a 7mm Rem mag.

Sierra recommends that load, but cautions that it's max, or near max. I've found some long throated rifles can take the bullet seated well out and work just as well with another grain of RL-22.

This is a common thread, obviously the 160 gr bullet in the 7mm Rem Mag is just about a perfect combo. My model 70 shoots the 160 AccuBond so well that I don't have any plan to change and I buy accubonds from the pro shop whenever they come on line. My pet load uses H-1000 but I have also used reloder 22 with pretty darn good results. The H-1000 gives on hole groups at 3080 fps. I use the H-1000 due to the better temperature tolerance compared to re22. Good luck with your work up.

Thanks again guy's. I am just getting started reloading this past year. Learning alot and appreciate your insight.

What is your load with H-1000 if you don't mind sharing?

Corey

Corey,

my loads have varied from 72grs to 74grs of H-1000 depending on the powder lot. I have loaded to get a velocity of around 3050-3080 fps which generates one hole groups. Some have said those loads are over max but they don't show any problems in my rifle.

Thanks. Sounds like somthing to play with later on. Starting low and working up of course

Corey
