I am looking for some favorite loads for the 7mm.
The rifle is a Savage model 111 with a 24" barrel. I have already chosen 140gr accubonds for bullets.
I will be loading the rounds for a friend who thinks his rifle is the reason he shoots large groups. He also thinks the primary reason behind reloading is saving money.

RL22 is a great powder for the 7mm Rem Mag and 140 gr bullets.
Acording to the Nosler RG#5,
Starting load is 63.5 grs and MAX load is 67.5 grs.

JD338

The best load for accuracy in my M70 custom built by Bill Leeper (to much to list in the way of work) Smith barrel, Mcmillian stock ect. It shoots 140gr. accubonds at 3265 fps with 68gr. H4831 and .350'' 5 shot group. Another good load is 75gr of retumbo for 3325 fps with a .700'' 5 shot group, i use the first load due to it's exsteamly good accuracy.

I have Nosler #5 and many other manuals. I am looking to find a load that is in the mid range and also a tack driver. I am pleased to hear RL22 works well in the 7mm. I use RL22 exclusively in my 300.
My Friend lives a couple of hours away and we don't get together much to shoot so, I am hoping it won't take alot of range time to find a good load.

I will echo what has been said RL 22 is about the best. I have worked up to 70 gr in a rifle I used to have. That is over listed max.

68.5g RL-22 with the 140g NBT works great in my rem 700. It clocks 3250fps, but I'm not so sure on that really. Its a long story. Anyways, its always been a 1/2 MOA performer. SHoots well enough I can hit my 15" gong at 800 yards consistently. Good luck.

For a140gr ccuracy loads, I've always had better luck w/ H4831sc & Fed10M primers. Work up to 66gr.

R-P case, 65gr RL-22, CCI large rifle mag, 140 AccuBond.
Thanks for the RL-22 tip.
I think I could have shot even better if my bubby would step up and buy decent optics. He has a EXSLB (extreemly super low budget) scope. The reticle covered a 1" square @ 100yds. The first shot in the picture was a flyer the rest grouped @ 5/8". I worked up from 63.5grs in 0.7gr increments. The first two groups were around 1.75. The 3rd @ 65gr tightened up dramaticly.
I thought the 4th @ 65.7grs would be better yet, but it opened back up to 1.5"

I don't know the true velocity, just what is listed in Nosler #5, around 3200 fps.
I haven't figured out which chrony to buy.
