Ramshot Grand. 7mm Rem Mag

Bruce, Did you have a QL for this ? If so how does it compare to your results?
I don't think grand is in ql yet. I went by data on Hodgdons web site and worked around. I'd sure like to see a quick load on them. Both bullets showed a significant increase in velocity from 72.5 to 73.0 grs of powder. I'd guess that's somewhere near max. Hodgdon showed 73.0 max but with different bullet.

Yes, i forgot that its not on QL yet. Have you decided on a load ?

I'll likely load up some 162 gr solid base with 72.3 grs to check on consistency. I'm setting up my 7mm mag for a second rifle this season and plan on using the solid base bullet.

That should be telling, Smart to have a back-up rifle. Bailed out a few friends that did not...lol

sorry to wake up an old thread but in my quest to never recover another fired round, I am currently working up a load for a new to me 7mag. I have found GRAND to be “THE” powder. I’m launching a 175 ABLR at 3060ish out of a 26 inch barrel. Now being that I have zero pressure sign checked with a mic at the belt. I just need to either start fiddling with seating depth until I get these groups down to where I want them and be ok or chase the 3100 I know it’s capable of. I just don’t know how far I want to push it. All data was collected at 6200 feet above sea level. IMG_8242.png

How many grains? I might have to try it in my 28 Nosler.

Darn it! I hate when new powders come out and you fellas get great stuff right out of the gate. That’s nearly Mashburn speeds with the 160’s Bruce. My original load was 75.5 of H 1000 for 3200 with a 160 Nosler.
Im going to try that in my Mashburn.
