LOOKING FOR LOADS FOR A WEATHERBY MARKV IN 7MM WBY MAG.
Mostly will be using 160gr accubonds.-
Any loads with 140gr ballistic tips?
Lot of information but would like loads actually been used.
thank you.-

My favorite load for my 7mm Wby Mag consists of a Remington case, a Fed 215M primer, 72 grains of IMR 7828, and the 160 Nosler Partition. This load gives me about 3150 fps in my 24 inch barrel and shoots 3/4 inch groups repeatedly. I am sure a similar load would work fine with the 160 grain Accubonds.

I have not messed with the 140 Ballistic Tips much, but did find some data from when I tested them a couple of years ago. A load using the same Remington case and Fed 215M primer, but with 73 grains of H 4831 gave me 3260 fps and a group of 0.63 inches.
I have not shot anything with the 140 BT except a couple of coyotes, it sure worked them over.

Neither of these are max loads, but you should start with a little lower powder charges to be safe.

Hope this helps.

TNX FER REPLY R. FLOWERS.- WHATS YOU COL?
Will try to find a good load using 160AB, will try partitions, seems a good elk load.

My COL is 3.46 inches. My rifle is a Remington 700 Classic that has plenty of freebore, so I cannot get close to the lands. I just load them as long as the magazine will allow.
