One more RUM down. I shot what we are guessing is a 95lb hog tonight. As the subject line states, using my 7mmRUM. The load is 91gn of Retumbo, GM215M, and a 150gn E-Tip. The shot was about 75yds. The shot hit the shoulder and exited, but I still had to put another round in the back of it's head. One of the two guys I was with got it on video, although he was quite a ways away. The muzzle flash, something you don't normally see, on the finishing shot is cool. I will have more info and pictures tomorrow, hopefully they will send them to me tomorrow.

Now I just need to get a Barnes load developed for the 375RUM.

Congratulations on your hog. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Congrats. I miss hunting wild boar. Loved hunting them and eating them when I lived in California.

Did you like the ETip load?

I will be loading ETip 150 and 180 Gr this week and seeing how I like them to get ready for hunting season.

As promised, here's a pic of the hog, the rifle, and if you look closely a round of 7mmRUM.

Rich,

Nice hog. That laminated stock sure is a pretty piece of wood.

As I mentioned above, this was being taped. I hope this link for the video works. NOTE: The guy with the camera was quite a ways away. Also I have edited it for time, and there may be some cuss words on it.

Rich,

Nice job! Thanks for sharing your hunt with us on video.

Awsome video Rich,
I would put that hog at about 130 Lbs. Did you recover either of the bullets. What kind of wound channel, Yada,Yada,Yada. I'm interested in non leaded bullet performance. It was really neat to se it on video and congrats on a nice meat hog. "YUM" :)
Good Hunting

THe hog weighed in at 94lbs (we're getting good at estimating weight). No bullet recovery. The entry was low on the neck, and exited the rightside mid leg. With it hitting leg bone, the exit was a mess. The finishing shot was right behind an ear and basically shattered his skull, which makes it really easy cutting the head off. So far, I shot 4 animals with E-Tips and one with a Barnes (out of my 338RUM). The bullets did there job, dead animal, so I'm happy with the performance of both.

what kind of velocity are you getting with your 150's , how long is your barrel?

I'm getting 3200FPS, and it has the standard issue 26" barrel from Remington..
