Having just rec'd this rifle time has been short for complete load experimentation. I have settled on 160 gr bullets as the fodder of choice. Has anyone tried this using the Partition in 160 in this particular claliber??

Hi
Yes, I've been shooting a 7x57 AI, with a 1-9" twist, for about five years now. So far it appears that 160 and 175gr bullets are the only ones that will shoot exceptionally well in this rifle. 150gr are ok and 140s are so so.

This rifle loves 53.0grs of H-450 with 160gr bullets. Velocity is averaging around 2750fps.
I know H-450 isnt available anymore, so if I had to use something else with 160gr bullets, it would be IMR7828, Rx22, IMR4831.
I have a 100 rds of 160gr Partition Golds loaded up with H-450 that I use just for hunting. BTW this load shoots about an inch at 200 yds on cool days.
As everyone knows, every rifle is different.. There is no tellin what yours may like.

each one is different. Mine is built around a Lothar match barel - also 1:9. Likes H4350 with the 160 mag tip. But it took awhile to discouver this recipe. With 50 gr it chronos at 2950. And I am hoping to match that with the nosler partitions.
