 I LIKE IT! Way to go BOOMER!!! That thing screams "take me moose hunting"!!!

Way to go..

You've done very well. That is a great cartridge that is seriously over looked here in Canada. Yeah, Scotty is right, that thing screams "MOOSE!" Good grab on your part.

HEY ! that rifle looks pretty good ! 9.3 Metric Cartridge is KOOL ! 8) Get a Good 2-7 mounted up on it with Quick Detachable rings and your good to go !

Cheers :) RJ

Yup, these suckers will put down ANYTHING on the planet. 270gn Speer Hot Core bullets are great over H-4350. A buddy put three shots from his 9.3 into the same (large) hole using 250gn Barnes TTSXs----and these were the first three shots out of the rifle.

Hornady and Nosler make good brass for the 9.3. You're in for some fun with this rifle.

Thanks guys. I ordered some Hornady brass as well. I assume a person could use 30/06 brass. Just trim and run through a tapered expander?

I think 280 brass is better, since the shoulder is a little further forward looking at the drawings. 280 might allow it to headspace a little tighter the first run. This is just looking at drawings so I have no real experience with it.

Nice! I was all hot and bothered for one of the Ruger Africans when they came out, but I could rock one of these as well....

Boomer,

Very nice find, congratulations.
That is one fine thumper. Mount a VX-3 2.5-8x32mm and you will be ready for
everything from mice to moose.

Shooters pro shop had brass the other day. Not sure if its still there. Nice rifle. I have been looking at the 9.3x62 a lot lately as well.

You would find it to be a well-mannered hammer for about anything that stalks North America. Fine cartridge for BIG game.

I like it…. I've got a long running itch for a 9.3.

Same here, since Mike built his Brenneke, I have been sorta eye balling on how to get a 9.3 myself. It is another that is an awesome performer, especially loaded in a modern rifle to 270/20-06 type pressures..

I like the 9.3x62 as well, it definitely screams moose round. A 286 gr Partition would blast through pretty much anything in this country........

Even the 250 grain AccuBond would work very well in the 9.3X62. It is still a lot of mass on target with plenty of frontal area.

Might work but either case lots of trimming before first firing. .1" off the neck not including stretch from fireforming and necking up. Which might make it more. Max SAMMI length on 280 is 2.54" 9.3 2.441" 06 2.494". Not to mention what necking up the brass will do to your front shoulder measurement. Possibly neck up trim then FL size you might be close enough to fireform.

For sure Mike, the 250 gr AccuBond is the best all around bullet in the 9.3's in my opinion.

Wonder is the .366 250AB could be swaged down to .358...... I am jealous of the BC the 9.3 gets with that bullet. I am betting it would be over .5 if it were a .358.
