Thought I'd share the new Winchesters that have come to live with me. I'm working up measurements and then loads this afternoon for a range session as soon as I can arrange it.
I bought a 7X57 last summer, but I didn't have time to scope it until this past weekend. I put a 3-9X42 Kahles on this rifle. I'm working up some loads to launch 140 grain AccuBonds and 140 grain Ballistic Tips first.
I brought my .284 Winchester home this weekend as well. It received a Leupold VX6 3-18X44 with CDS dials and an illuminated B&C reticle. It has a 24 inch Hart barrel, is pillar bedded and the action was blue-printed. The fellows at Rocky Mountain Rifles did a great job. Now, to get some loads moving down the tube. My first effort is a couple of tests with 150 grain E-Tips. I'll likely work up some 150 grain ABLR shortly.
One of these, or perhaps both of them, will likely accompany me for black bear this coming spring. I'm always pleased to have something new to work up.
