A great morning at the range

Well the trip did not start the greatest with the Sauer 30-06. Again nothing under 1.5" with the 165. I did bring my Ruger and some 180 AB loaded up over some H4530. Out of anger towards the Sauer, I never pulled the Ruger out but instead tried the few 180 AB loads that I had. The first 3 shot group =.782" with speeds of 2755/2736/2756. I guess I will have to try a few more 180 AB next time out.

Dad's new Tikka is done as far as load dev goes.
RL19-50.7 grains
110 AB
Rem Nickle Brass
.598" groups with speeds of 2862/2856/2887

I would like to get the speeds closer but I am guessing it has to do with the neck tension of the brass not being the same. After I shoot this batch, I am planning on annealing the brass.

The 6.5 Grendel did what is always does, shoot groups from .396" to .787"

The last rifle was my 6BR. I shot 5 3 shot groups with the biggest being .406 and the smallest being .182!!!!
That is with Lapua brass, 28.6gr of Varget, .002 neck tension, 105 Nosler Custom Comps seated with .012" jam.

I am hoping the Sauer can repeat the 180 AB loads again. If it does, that rifle will be ready for Nov.

Looks like those 180 AB,s are about ready to go. Your getting really decent velocity with H-4350. Nice

Yes it will!

3/4" groups with a good 180 gr bullet at 2700 fps is a mighty capable load. Sometimes we stumble across loads that just plain work!

Congrats on good results with your other rifles as well, particularly that little 6mm BR!

Congrats! Its funny how rifles like what they like. My buddy wanted to shoot 180 accubonds but they shot horribly. Tried several other 180's. On a whim he tried some 165 and 150 gr. those 150 gr. fusions shoot like lasers out of his gun. Glad you have found some success! That will be quite the load for sure!

On paper the 165 and 168 grain loads may be better but the proof is in the pudding as they say and it seems your rifle likes the 180 grain pill.

Since it seems to like it, use it. :)

I have zero pressure so far at 28.6. I am going to keep going up slow. I would like to get around the 30 grain mark to get more speed.

Very nice WT. Those 180 AB's will get everything done. That's great shooting and not the first time I have seen a rifle prefer one weight over another.
