I just won this "new to me 300 Whelen"....gonna try a new platform too....will peep it after scoping/checking accuracy,etc. Gotta have a 30-06 around...it's just "American", ha.

That's a cool 30-06 buddy! Love those 7600's.

I wish I had been throwing dice...I'd have come out cheaper, ha. I paid a fair price, $400 for it.

Hey TD- I got all stirred up while reading Larry Benoit's book "How to Bag the Biggest Buck of Your Life" again, ha. I would have a heart attack trying to hunt deer like he did! He always used a pump carbine in the '06. I don't care for the blast of the 300 Whelen in a carbine though, even 22" helps!
