...I still use MOC (Minute Of Critter), meself. Elk @ 400yds. is top of the back, mule deer is one body high, pdawgs are 2 pdawgs high. Past 400 or so, you're aiming @ a point in space, so it's probably time to start dialing...
I try to know my rifle & then range with my 1600. A long shot for me is 500 yards on a big body animal so I know just day light over the shoulder should put meat in my freezer :wink:.
It has worked for over 40 years so I am not going to quit now .
Me too guys. I don't normally shoot anything over 400 yards and the SWAG method has worked for me for 50+ years. All but one of my deer shot during all of these years were one shot kills. SWAG works for me and I don't expect at my age to get called for sniper duty?
