A new Huntress amoung us!

Congrats to the young lady. You did good Dad, for getting her started on the right direction.

Nice! Glad to see a lot of young ladies coming out to hunt these days. Took my 6yr old again yesterday. Nothing better, I think, than raising a kid up to become an outdoorsman or outdoorswoman.

Sign her up!

Anna and her can go antelope hunting!

This is what my buddy had to say about hunting with my daughter.

I am so proud of this little girl you don't understand!!!

When the doe and fawn entered the field, I asked her which deer she wanted to shoot. Naturally, she chose the big one.

So, I had her get on the gun and look at the deer for minute. I asked her if she could see both deer and how was the picture. "It's perfect, I can see her perfect."

"Ok, let's take a couple deep breathes and just look at her for a second."

"Can you still see her and are the crosshairs where they need to be?"

"Yes, I can still see her perfect."

"Ok, I'm going to take the gun off safety and take the shot when you're ready."

A perfect textbook lung shot just behind the shoulder halfway up. I had her shoot again, but it wasn't required.

I could read the happiness and satisfaction on her face that the deer didn't suffer because of her excellent shots.

I gave her a big hug, some high fives and a couple fist bumps along with talking about the excellent exicutuion.

A HAPPY Day indeed for both of us!

Congrats again, and "Show me that pretty smile!"

Congrats to you and your daughter! And thanks to your friend. Sounds like she did very well. My 250 likes 35 Gr. of 4064 under a 100 Gr BT and a standard CCI large rifle primer. I have also found that a 75Gr Vmax over 40 Gr. of 4350 is a very accurate light recoiling load. If you get in a pinch and need somthing for her to shoot out of the 250 Sav. shoot me a PM. CL

CL thanks for the offer, but I've ordered up some 87 grain Reed's custom ammunition. I think they use a Hornady bullet and it is loaded to 3000 fps. We'll see if she can tolerate the recoil of that ammunition first, if she can't then it will be back to loading some quality "magic" ammuniton. I'll be asking as well for pet loads, so I'll definatley keep you in mind, besides I just put together a .250 Savage for myself on a Stevens 200. Just need to pillar bed it to the B&C stock I have as well, that way I figure I won't be stealing hers to play with.
