Is there any way that Nosler could build a bullet with an even heavier shank and larger poly tip that would open almost on surface, without shattering(reducing the horrible blood blast I get with these kinds of rifles), and then still retain 50-70% of it's weight in a nice 2X diameter or more and do what nosler's always do without hammering blood thro all the soft tissue within 2 feet of the wound channel. Sort of the opposite results of a Berger VLD(including the blowing up at 3500FPS). Even stiffening up the Tip in the present configuation could be all that is needed.

I've absolutely no complaints about the present design except this and will still use them, but any hit on WT deer with a 264, 270 or 30-378 has blasted blood everywhere. I think it's due to the highly aerodynamic design that gives the high BC. AS I said, I really like the way the AccuBonds shoot and kill game, this is really the only complaint I have. The Accubonds are already alot better than the Ballistic tips, I guess I could just use a normal gun, NO!! that wouldn't work......

Nosler has your answer....the etip bullet. BUT---using things like 30-378's on deer is sorta like using a hammer to kill an ant. I don't think there is a bullet out there that isn't going to wreak some damage on meat around the hole at those speeds...but I would bet the least damage would be an e-tip bullet.

The 200 AB serves me great from my 30-378.

The 200 grn AB is the best peformer so far. IT hits really hard and the damage is only what one could expect from a 30 cal bullet with a Muzzle velocity of 3200, but I want my cake and I want to eat it too.

The funny thing is my uncle uses a 270 win and has the same effects with the 140 grain AB in factory Fedral Premium. The bullet still drops them as tho they`ve been hit by lightning out of either the 30-378 or the 270, most likely due to that wall of fluid ripping things up.......

I had it in my mind if the bullet entered partially opened it could remedy this, but might limit the effectiveness of the bullet too. I`m not really concerned, it was something that was discussed the other night and I was curious if there was a cure.

I am not that concerned about it, it is a vast improvement over the BT. Besides, it is better to have one animal hanging and lose a few pounds of meat than to shoot a lesser bullet and be tracking until the trail goes cold.

If we are going to insist on using these big magnums on deer size game, then we are going to have to expect these results  I use 160 AB in my 7mm RUM & make damn sure I don't put it where it don't belong so that I'm going to waste a lot of meat :? Having said that, I won't change these bullets for any thing else. As I said once before, these bullets & NP are so predictable, they're almost boring

I would say use the heaviest bullet for caliber.
