I purchased a Vanguard S2 Stainless 223 last Feb. I paid market $ at the time.
I was actually really impressed with the gun. So was a buddy of mine.
My son comes flying in the house a couple of weeks ago crowing about a stainless 223 "Just Like Yours" for $400. Appearently the Sporting Goods Store chain is not going to sell the Van S2 Stainless in a 223 anymore and is just dumping the last few in inventory. Well my son put $25 down to get it shipped here. I called my buddy and he ran down there and thru another $25 to get the last one.
My son already shot his this last week end and "It's the best shooting gun ever!!". I think he likes the no recoil.
I just put a B&C alum bed stock on mine today and this weekend my buddy and I will get sighted in and hunting on Sunday for Coyotes.
Kinda cool my son running into that deal like that. He had $175 in Christmas gift cards, I gave him another $150 in gift cards that I recieved. So he only had to cough up a few $ of his own. He is pretty excited.
