has anyone loaded the accelerator type sabots from www.eabco.com??
They had load data on their site. wondering if anyone had any luck and if so, what they used for recipies.

I tried and tried and tried. Best I could do was 2-3" groups at 100 yards from a darn accurate (otherwise) 30-06. I quite wasting my 22 bullets and my powders. I still have some red sabots somewhere....

I tried them in a 300 win mag

shot at a 4' x 8' target at 100 yards
no hits

moved up to 20 yards
the bullets that were not exploding in mid air shot an eratic 3 foot group
about half the bullets fragmented before target impact.

55 grain fmj speer
dont remember the powder used
gave up after about ten rounds

The barrel gets hot the plactic sabot leaves more residue accuarcy gets very poor........not worth the money.

Sabots were fun to play with when I tried them in my .30-30 T/C Contender. The accuracy results were not the best though.

I bought a box of Remington factory 30-06 loads years ago when they were first introduced. I still have a few left over.

The theory on sabots is great; the reality is less exciting generally.
