Accubond tips

Last year I bought a good supply of 7mm 160 gr Accubonds seconds from SPS. I am just getting around to loading some of them but I noticed I have quite a few which have had the polymer tip break off or just plain fall out. While I am not complaining since I bought them as seconds, I was wondering if this is a common problem with AB bullets. I have loaded a couple thousand BT and have only seen one or two with this problem. What have you guys seen regarding this?

I had several fall out with some of the first boxes of 7mm 160 grain bullets. These, however, were firsts.

Actually, come to think of it, the ones I loaded were a batch of firsts that I bought to try

The bad part about my experience was that since I'm in Canada, I couldn't work out an exchange. Nosler couldn't send me a new box and I couldn't send back the one I had. I just relegated the bad bullets to a pile for break-in. It did, however, give me pause on using AccuBonds for a time.

I too have had the same problem more than once on factory loaded ammo from Winchester, and federal premium as well. Although a great bullet, I have since backed away from any bullet with a polymere tip, for now anyways,

I had some early 308/200 accubonds that had tip troubles. Nosler took care of it w/no hassle. Since then I've had lots of ballistic tips and AB's with no tip problem.

Same here had a box that 7 or 8 had tips come off. Just chucked em have not had one do the same thing since. When you make millions of something you are gonna have a hiccup from time to time just the law of averages with mass manufacturing not enough to steer me away from them excellent accubonds .

Actually, if you make millions of something, you ought to have your process Validated and your CpK (process capability) nailed down with optical final inspection. That way, you can stop the line and fix the problem without sending bad bullets to your customer who will stop using them!!!

Did you have to send them back first? They wanted to do that with mine, too much hassle and expense so I will just shoot mine up.

They didn't ask me to return them but I did provide the lot numbers which must have been on their list of problem bullets.
