I have a Kimber 8400 Montana in .325 WSM. A little experimenting with handloads came up with a very accurate load. Winchester cases with Winchester magmun primers, 68.5 grains of Reloader 19 and 200gr. Nosler AccuBond bullets. It produced groups of .75 inches at 100yds, 1 inch at 200yds, and 2.5 inches at 300yds. Impact at 3 inches high at 100, 1.5 inches high at 200, and 2.5 inches low at 300yds. Make sure to have a muzzle break for a light rifle like this (6.8lbs with scope). It is a kicker. I am going to try it out on Montana elk in September...

That's terrific. Sounds like you've got a fine load there. That must indeed kick a bit in a Montana.

I hope you thump an elk with it.

Same setup as me...what did you set for C.O.L...2.86??

Thanks.

Sounds like an elk thumper to me. Good luck on your elk hunt.
Take some pictures and post them .

That does sound like an elk thumper!
I have the same rifle in 270WSM, it is a joy to carry in the mountains, a 325 in the same rifle would be sweet

Velocity?

I just finished working up a load for a 26" .325 WSM MGM barrel in an Encore. 69.0 grains RL-19 with 200 grain AccuBond averaged 2900 fps. ES was 12fps. Last 3 shots were .5" center to center. It also shot good with 68.0 grains H-4831sc and the 200 grain Accubonds but velocity was 150 fps less.
