Achieving a dark rich blueing job

For my .280 ai build, I would like to blue the metal to a deep dark rich blue much like you see on higher end weatherby rifles. Is this best achieved through a Hot Dip process or could I get the results from rust blueing? Any other suggestions?

You have to be set up to do a very fine polishing job on the metal which means a lath and buffing wheels to bring the metal to a very high polish. Hot bluing is the quickest but you have to have the temps right or it will come out green. Slow rust bluing is which you find on the old Damascus steel barrels and it is time consuming and you can achieve some great results. It all comes down to the metal polishing as to what degree of deep rich bluing you achieve.
