Alcan large rifle primers?

Anyone have any experience with these? They were included in a box of reloading supplies that belonged to my uncle. I'm sure they date back to the 70's, at least. Are they worth saving, or should I just toss them? Assuming they were stored correctly, were they a quality primer to begin with? How do they compare with modern CCI, Federal, etc.?

I picked these up at an Estate auction. I believe they are even older than me. Packaging is still in new condition yet. I did load up some today and they fired 😁. Any of our older distinguished members know the history of these?

Yeah, I'll probably pick a couple of my existing loads and swap out the primers and see how the loads perform with the Alcan primers compared to the originals.

I'd use them . I'm using CCI , and WIN primers from the early 1980's . no problems with them .

Try them out. I've got thousands of primers from the 70-80's era and they are fine.

while we're talking primers I was at my local Bass Pro on Sunday and purchased 1000 Federal small pistol for 56.00. They listed for 60.00 but with a military discount the price was less. Seemed like a very good price.
