I ended up with a Browning A Bolt II 300WM in a trade.
I had heard horror stories on removing barrels from these actions but it was not any harder than a Vanguard to remove, I did have to use a lathe to cut a small recess in front of the receiver and heat the barrel to break the Loctite, then I was able to unscrew it.
The stock it came with was one of those plastic things, decided to go with a Boyds and just pillar bed it, and glass the lug and action. I chambered an x-caliber barrel blank I had here, in 30 Nosler. The barrel is 26" and I threaded for the brake.
I did my usual receiver blueprinting to make sure it is all trued up. Should make for a decent low weight gun.
I like the three lug short throw of this action, first one I have built on.
Please excuse the mess on the table, I need a cleanup day BAD!
