Another rush on componets?

If it looks like the left side is going to win this election do you all think we'll see another shortage of componets due to hoarding and panic buying? I noticed my local stores have pretty good supplies but Fed match primers are up to $50 per K. Either way I'm better off now with supplies than I was three years ago. Three years ago was not the time to take up the hobby of reloading! I have about 40lbs of powder,10K primers and about 5K bullets - I think I need a little more powder and ample brass for all firearms. Am I planning well or fear mongering?

I think you are doing the right thing. It is nice to have primers and bullets on hand to keep you shooting. I don't really consider it hoarding when you shoot as much as we do around here.. If you only shot a 100 rounds a year, well, that would be different. I can shoot up to a 100 rounds through a few different rifles in one range outing..

Looks like you're about 5K short on bullets.

I'm short on powder if I'm shooting the RUMs.
I've got to pick up bullets and brass for a couple of new calibers I've picked up.

There seems to be a run on components each time a Democrat gets elected or re-elected to the presidency. A Democratic Congress also provides incentive to stock up on components. I don't see this particular cycle ending anytime soon.

If the halfrican wins, you can count on panic buying.
I am pretty sure he will loose, he has no record to fall back on and Romney is going to be a pitt bull on the attack.

In the mean time, not a bad idea to stock up where you can.

My concern is that he will apply the Chicago way to this election, and people will let him get away with it. If those that pay no taxes actually turn out to vote, it will make a formidable group voting. I'll make certain that I have a goodly supply laid in before the election. Right now, several powders are growing scarce. I just heard that the reason is that there is only one trucking company shipping to Canada, and they don't want to bring any powder until they have a major order from the mines. So, we wait. To the Canadians on the forum, take this information to heart and act with discretion.

I was just going to pick this as a new topic :(. I just walked in the door and was at local shop. They have nothing new coming in except Daryl advised they got in a order of Leupold scopes but only VX-1s.
He keeps getting told that everything is on its way but it is not showing up  Even at Wholesalesports there is not very much.
I don't dealing there as they have no customer service
I think both sides of the border have the same problem.

Blessings,
Dan

You should never run out of primers! Didn't you see the youtube vid that I posted?

Yeah, but word on the street is that there is about to be a run on strike anywhere matches.

Exactly.

...that cause they're "Strike Anywhere", that makes 'em dangerous, & they're getting damnnear impossible to find anymore...

...I've been quietly stocking up a little @ a time, trying to get ahead w/o causing a panic or convincing (it don't take much around here) the LGS it's time to start raising prices in anticipation of another run...

Well if the left does win then the scary part is what does he care what he pushes on congress to get passed. Seriously. It will be his second and final term...so what would he really care happens to his party members during...say....another crime bill of 1994. Hopefully the dems still remember what happened to those seats they had in the election that followed that crime bill vote and don't want anything to do with such a ridiculous and bogus law.... that may arise again.
