usmc 89: probably new, but I'll definitely look at the 'hide before I make the final decision.
GF1: it's going on an M70 Coyote, which is a pretty portly gun to begin with, and it's really just going to be a long-range informal target and steel gun. I have enough other lighter, handier guns that I really don't mind the extra weight.
Understand the weight issue my long range hunting rifles are all in the 12-14 pound range, I use the eberley packs to transport them. What is your coyote chambered in?
