Loaded up some light bullets for the 45.
8.9 gr power pistol. Hornady XTP and some Berry's.
They seem to be accurate as can be.
Wondered if anyone else messed with these.

I've loaded 700X and -231 with 185gr Speer TMJ JSWCs and Hornady JHPs that made excellent plinker rounds. Great range fodder for pins and tic-tac-toe.

My practice load is a plated bullet and WW231. I recently purchased a thousand 185 gr Nosler Custom Comp from the pro shop but have not loaded them yet. Not sure what powder I'm gonna use. I have 231 and power pistol.

Bruce MC, I have the USMC pistol team load for that bullet that is extremely accurate . I'll dig it up and post it for you.

I found them it's new Star line brass Fed large pistol primer with 4.4grs VV N310.
You can also use Bullseye powder at the same charge. I would start out at 4.0grs and work my way into these loads to see what is accurate in your pistol. They both will run right around 800fps. which seems to be the sweet point for the .45 acp.

Thanks all.
I believe mine are a bit warmer than the 800 fps.
I may try that load you mention TD. Sounds fun.

I'm a big fan of Titegroup in 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP. I've loaded a few 185s in the 45 in the past but when I saw SPS lowered the price on the Custom Comps I went a little crazy and ordered slightly over 100lbs of them. I'm sure they will shoot well.

Monkeyed around with 800x in the 357 sig but no 700x yet. Have some laying around for trap loads.
You like it w the 185s?

Shoots good, a little dirty but I like it

I use a lot of Solo 1000 in the .45acp Tite group, Bullseye, 231. Most any shot gun powder will work but tends to be dirty.
