Anyone know??

I just ordered some 165 grain .308 blemished bullets from Midway USA. At $21/100 it seemed financially responsible to stock up. Should my .30 cal rifles not shoot really well with them they would still be the cheapest plinking bullet I can find. Anyone who has recently purchased them have an idea on the manufacturer? In the past it seems Hornady was the source of their blemished bullets. Also grabbed a few bags of the Nosler solid base 165/.308’s to try.

That’s what I was thinking, more Speer to me but I thought the photo said it was a representation of the bullet so I figured some kid in a cubicle just uploaded a photo of a bullet and called it a day, needing a much deserved day off after that task

I bought a bunch of Sierra 308 168 TMK seconds from Midway earlier this year. They shoot great in the 308 and 30 Nosler. They ring steel and are wicked on deer.

You can usually tell what they are by the MSRP they cross out, I took a quick look and nothing matches the price.

Yeah, I figured since they were per 100 they wouldn’t be a standard stock item. Maybe it’ll be a massive surprise and they’ll be the Nosler solid base!!! Highly unlikely

If I was a betting person they are Sierras. And they are only 1hr from Midway.

Well that would make a lot of sense. Whatever they are, if they are accurate I’ll be set for quite awhile. If they are just ok, they should be good enough to harvest some steel plates at the club.

Not the Solid Base. Nosler added a plastic tip and they became the Ballistic Tip decades ago. Then they bonded the core to make the AccuBond.

Nosler has just released the solid base again in their line of "Whitetail" ammo.

Ya, they re-released the solid base, 10+ years ago and I scooped up quite a few. Apparently they're using them again. It's a good bullet, stronger than the typical cup and core offering.

The pictures bullet looks like a Sierra gameking to my eyes. A very good hunting bullet and at that price a phenomenal plinking bullet
