AR Upper Receivers

What are some of the best AR upper receivers? I have a buddy looking for one with a 10-11" upper with a 1-7" twist, in order to stabilize the heavier 70 and 77gr bullets in 5.56. I am running an HK416 upper, but I don't know if you can just buy a HK upper? Thanks for the help fellers. Scotty

Rock River makes a fine upper. Don't know if they make a 1/7 though...

There's a local builder here too with some impressive innovations, but I need more info on his uppers before I can recommend them.

Rgr, thanks Guy. 1-8 would work also. Also, he is looking for an upper with a monoblock forend. I did a little scouting and Noveske has some decent looking uppers. I think he is trying to stay away from PWS. Scotty
