Mike, I think Bill is asking for WBY data, as he is getting his old one tuned back up. I would appreciate any data you have also as I have a 300WBY I have not fired yet! Scotty

Will do, will send the info Friday. Have seen 15 deer since Monday morning and was able this morning to fill my doe tag. 4 button bucks, 5 spikes, 2 four points and 4 does with this morning's doe being the only one that was big enough and old enough to take. Where I am hunting it has to be an 8 point or better to be legal. This evening is my last chance but at least I was not skunked this year. These are the first deer I have seen since Novemeber 1st. I am hunting with GB300wn (Jerry).

Great job Mike. Glad you were able to get some meat for the deep freezer. Scotty

300Wby 180gr bullet I have five powders that produced good accuracy and velocity. Using 180gr AccuBond, Partition and TSX

IMR7828 starting at 79grs and working up in half grain steps. This is near max load so half grain steps.

IMR4350 starting at 75grs and working up in half grain steps. This is getting close but not quite a near max load, but still load half grain steps and you could get 3 or 4 grains higher without any trouble.

RL-22 starting at 77.5grs near max but will not give velocities like the other four did.

RL-25 starting at 85grs and working up in half grain steps. This is near max load so half grain steps.

MRP - start at 86grs and work up in half grain steps and once you are at 85.5 go up in half grain and you can obtain over 3200fps.

Using Weatherby brass and CCI250 primers I was above 3100fps with all of these powders accept MRP which was over 3200fps and they all had accurate loads of 1 1/2" down to 1/4" Most accurate powder was IMR4350, IMR7828 and RL-22. I hope this helps out. I do not post my final load for any given powder as it might not be safe in your rifle. Mike :)

Mike, thank you for that data. Anything for 200's? Just wondering as I am thinking 200gr PT's/AB's are going to get the nod for the 300WBY. Scotty

IMR4350 starting at 74.5grs and work up half grain at a time. Should yield anywhere between 3025fps - 3145fps

IMR7828 starting at 79grs and work up half grain at a time. Should yield pretty close to IMR4350 velocities.

RL-25 starting at 83.5 and work up half grian at a time. Should also fall in the area of 3025-3120fps

MRP-2 start at 88grs and work up half grain at a time. should be just a tad faster velocities than RL-25

All of these worked great in my 300wby shooting both the 200gr G/K, Partition and AccuBond. IMR4350 and IMR7828 were the most accurate in my rifle but RL-25 and MRP-2 were right behind it.

Thanks again Mike. Great data! Looking forward to doing a little loading for the rifle. It will be in the late Winter when I get to it, but I can't wait to try it out a little. Scotty

Mike

Thank you very much for the data, 4350 is one of my favorite powders, I will start with it.!!!!!!
