Article on 358Win and 30-06

Mike,

Great articles!
I enjoyed reading them both.

Thanks JD, The 30-06 has been my favorite cartridge for years but I have also fallen in love with the 358Win over the last two years. Everyone here knows how I like my fast running Weatherby cartridges but they don't hold a candle in my affection for these two classics.

Those are great articles Mike. The 358 Win is a great cartridge. It is almost so good in fact, I think it is looked over by alot of folks. Kinda too bad, as I think it is better than the 338 Fed, simply cause the majority of 35 Cal bullets are meant for the 358/35 Whelen, and most 338 bullets are made to handle the 338 Win Mag. I think this year will be my lever action year, so I should get some good time afield with the 45/70 and 358 Winchester. Scotty

Scotty, I love your enthusiast attitude, so I am confident you will have a good year hunting.

Thanks Mike. It should be a good year, but as long as I am able to get out and hunt, that makes it a good year by me! Scotty

As an owner of both the .358 and the 30/06 both in Ruger rifles, I must say that those are really good articles!

Thank you - Ruger makes a good rifle. I think of the Ruger as the Jeep of rifles. I shoots good, rugged and can take abuse and just keeps on going. Combine the Ruger Hawkeye with these two cartridges and you have some real work horses that will carry the load and pull the wagon.
