So I have not bought a new rifle in over 20 years for myself, (now my 2 boys on the other hand) so I asked Santa for a 26 Nosler, I have been very good this year and have let Santa know 2 places that had them on the shelf. So my question is if Santa comes through I'm going to mount a Nightforce SHV on it but I'm not sure about rings and bases, so all suggestions that will mount that scope and gun combo are welcome ( deadnutz, Leupold,Talley, Burris, Picatinny 20 MOA, Flat). Thank you, Mark.

I am a huge fan of the Talley QD rings and Leupold Dual Dovetails.. Just never had a bad thing happen with those two mounting systems.

I hope Santa pulls through for you. Sounds like an awesome Santa gift..

The good news is the world is full of good mounts...

I've used Leupold Dual Dovetails and Warne Maxima to excellent effect.

I use Talley myself.
Been very happy with them.

My favorite combo is the EGW Rail with the Leopold PRW rings. Built like a brick and really indestructible. I have three of these set ups. If you want to really reach out get the 20 MOA rail. My three with Conquest scopes are maxed out at about 600 yards. Night force also builds a standard and 20 MOA base.

I use only Talley and have never had a problem. I was thinking of going to a rail on my 280AI but have decided against it.
I don't think you would go wrong with Talley.

Blessings,
Dan

If you use a picatinny base and rings- go with steel made by Badger Ordnance, Leupold M4, or Seekins.

If not Talley Mfg. Inc. are best of breed for light weight slim line and yet easy to remove.

seekins precision, good stuff, burris XTR rings are very good for the price as are SWFA SS rings

Well Santa not only brought one for me, (she) also brought one for my son. I'm Going to put a Nightforce scope, rings and base on it (should be here Monday), my son is putting a Vortex on his. Midway has the loaded rounds and brass on sale so I ordered 2 of each and a set of dies, should be ready to break it in soon.

So My 1pc NF rail won't work, I thought it took a 700 action rail, yes and no it takes any 2pc Rem 700 mount so now I need to find the 2pc NF, but none are available locally and the place I bought the scope 1pc base and rings are out of stock also.

Mkcj, I think that I have some 2 piece Remington bases. I will look and you can have them, if I do.
