I know, it seems like a ridiculous amount of money for a bipod....but my awesome wife bought me one for my birthday and now I'm not sure I can ever go back! I got the one with the quick detach mounting lever and ordered a couple of rails so that I can swap it back and forth between rifles with a simple throw of the lever. It mounts up really solid and I love the preloaded swivel and cant. The bipod itself is very lightweight, can be adjusted an infinite number of ways and seems to be built to withstand a bomb blast. I'll try and get some pictures posted up when I get home but I'm a believer after actually getting my hands on one of them! If you shoot a lot prone from a bipod I would highly recommend checking them out! I might end up getting the leg extension kit, but we'll see after I get some more field time with it if I feel like I need it or not....

Let me know if you have any questions on them and I'll try and answer them. And I'll work on getting some pictures of it up soon.

Some pictures of the atlas bipod. Legs adjust for length via a collered pull ring that is fast and quiet. Legs can also be placed in the forward stowed position, straight down, 45 degrees forward or back, or stowed completely to the rear. Legs can be adjusted independent of each other as well. The quick release clamp has a small button you have to depress as well to prevent accidentally unlocking it from the rail. The knob on the bottom adjusts the tension of the cant and swivel.

That looks pretty cool, Tim. Any idea what it weighs compared to a Harris?

It weighs 12.7oz with the quick detach lever, 11oz with the screw on version. According to Midway the Harris S-BRM 6-9" which is probably the closest comparison weighs in at 13oz. I know I have a couple of Caldwell bipods and the Atlas is significantly lighter holding them side by side.

www.accu-shot.com/Atlas_Bipods.php if you want to check out the specs on them.

Spendy little buggers but if you don't mind swapping bipods to whichever rifle you are taking out for the day then you can buy one and just clamp on and go....takes about 10 seconds to switch between rifles.

I like that it will go left and right. Used a Blackhawk that would swivel/rotate, but not as rugged. May look at one these over the Harris or Blackhawk.

What is the low down on the rifle? Manners stock?

Now, that's an interesting way to boost your count total, Jim. Post it twice.

He feels the footsteps on his back door!

Maybe I need to try that. I feel so inadequate with only a four figure post count.

Nah.
