Ok I finally have funds and approval to finish my 300 RUM I got the Timney trigger last month and now I need a stock.

I can get the Full block alaskan for about 225 or the same stock with the durrmaxx coating on it for $40 more putting that at 265 so I ask myself why stop there should I just go for the HS?

or is that maxx coating worth $40 if not I am just going to get the plain alaskan

Some of the B&C stocks have a palm swell that does not work with my smaller hands, so my christmas purchase to my self was the HS, it fit the action like a glove. I know that several here have had great luck with the B&C.

Of the two, I would choose the B&C. I had an HS Precision and didn't care for it. I know others, including my current boss who's a big shooter, really likes the HS.

I don't think the HS inlets any better than the B&C; they both have an aluminum bedding block system; both "feel" fine and would be fine for hunting.

So to me, they are equal. A step up from a Remington plastic stock, for sure.

However, I believe the are both inferior in feel / handling compared to a McMillan. I've never tried a Manners, but I'm sure they are also superb. I believe a McMillan to be about $450, plus 16 weeks wait.

I have two B&C Medalists and like them alot. I have not ever had a McMillan or HS so I cannot say, but for the money I cannot complain a bit about the B&C's. I like the Alaskan as well, just a touch lighter.

Bill mentioned the grip was swelled for him, but for my paws, it feels about right and I shoot it well, so you really gotta feel a few of them I think.

B&C ergo's soundly trump HS.

Assuming a 700 based 300 RUM,I'd want a "Weatherby" filled Sako Hunter wearing 1" Decelerator and flush cups.

Hint.
