Here is the B&C Medalist on my 338WM. It still needs some spacers in order attach the 2 piece bottom metal together, but it should give you a good idea of what it looks like. Sorry about the dark pictures, but I took them the other evening and haven't had a chance to fix them up. Scotty

Scotty,
Thats nice. Good thing the scope is black. The stock blends in with the tree. You might lose it and I will have to find it.

You might have to paint the scope day-glo orange. Seriously, nice looking job on the rifle.

Nice lookin' rifle, Scotty. I'm curious to see how you like it when you get it finished and shoot it. I have one of those IM plastic piece of crud stocks from New Haven, too, and I need it to be gone at some point....lol.

Well, I have an extra one right now, if you wanna a spare to work on! Scotty

Um.....NO!

But thanks for the offer....lol.

Speaking of which, I should get those pillars finished so I can shoot next weekend. I wasn't worried about shooting this weekend....I won't go near a range this weekend......but next weekend I want to send some rounds down and see what it does.

A couple stainless washers and the 338WM is complete. Looks pretty good to me. The floorplate isn't exactly perfectly fitting the entire opening, but the only thing I could do to fix it is to buy new steel bottom metal. Overall, it seems great. I will shoot it as is before I mess with it. The only other thing to really do with the rifle would be to bed the recoil lug, but I don't see me digging into that unless it just goes to heck accuracy wise. Scotty

Now that is what I call a nice UPGRADE 8) . Wait until you get it to the range and see how well that stock with the recoil pad theyput on it works...oh I forgot, you don't feel recoil :p .

Thanks Joel. Again, thanks for the pre buy advice on it. Seems like I will be VERY happy with it as long as it shoots as well as the old stock did. If it shoots better, well, that is just a plus to me. That 338WM has always been very accurate for me. I have a full batch of RL19 and RL22 loaded up with 250's right now and I CANNOT WAIT to get out and send them down range. Scotty

Scotty -

Nice looking stock! Keep looking at those for my VTR and havent' done it yet - I'm interested in what you think of it. Keep me posted.

Oh ya - ummmm....... remember what happened when I had to go and play with switching stocks on my .257 Bee when I alreayd had a good load for it........

Scotty,

That stock looks great! Looking forward to your range report.
That rifle is going to work well on your elk hunt this fall.

I do remember that! I guess I will see how it likes the new stock. I am thinking it will be fine. That old plastic stock had alot of flex and just was garbage really. Overall, I like how this new stock fits. Pretty darned nice actually for Kevlar and Fiberglass. I have some 250gr PT's loaded up right now for development and some old 225gr SST's loaded up. Those did shoot into 1" pretty easily and they ran 2890. I will use those as a test to see how the rifle likes the new stock. If the next picture you see if the stock in two piece configuration, you will know what happened! Scotty

Looks great, I picked the same color for mine.
Hope you have the same luck as i did when i did the 700

Just remember to take the action out of the stock first!

I am glad that you got the B&C stock to work for you. You can always bed the gap under the floorplate if it bothers you. Let us know how it shoots with the new stock. It should be a lot stiffer than the stock that came on the rifle.
