Sugar is well on the road to recovery. Took her out yesterday for an extended exercise session. This was the first time she has been out of our yard since getting injured.
We are guiding today, I'll let her hunt for an hour or two.
Bob Whites in the brush but I was carrying the 6.5 looking for song dogs.IMG_0842.JPG

That is great news  as it is no fun having pups that love to hunt and work but then can't.
Glad that Sugar is back up doing what is was bred to do (y).

Blessings,
Dan

Beautiful picture of the pups surveying the AO. Great news to hear that she is getting back to work.

Glad to hear she is back up and hunting with no complications. Did you ever discover what she was impaled on?

Glad to hear your "team" is back, and sugar is doing well. Hopefully all continues ti go well. CL

Never did discover what stuck her. I hunted her for an hour today. She started to limp a little so I took her back to the truck. Molly finished the afternoon.

Looks like you had a great hunt (y). I am glad you are taking it slow but sure with Sugar (y).

Blessings,
Dan

Poor Sugar thinks she is fine and I'm convinced she will be. The problem with short hairs is drive. Drive is what makes them such great hunters. I've seen them continue hunting to the point of collapse.
We don't hunt again until February 11. Hopefully she'll be well recovered by then.
