My buddy and I went to attend a one day class for Basic Marksmanship. The class was thought by a retired US Army Sniper. The class was limited to 15 shooter. I figured it is still not too late for this old dog to learn new tricks. We engage target of unknown distance up to 800 yards, using mil-dot to figure out range. We had a blast. Anyway, here are the pictures from yesterday.

So did you need to arrive with proper gear, or did they supply it? Looks like a grand time!

Looks like a great time and you are right, it is always good to get back to basics in order to set yourself back on track and begin advancing even further. Sounds like a great shoot. What rifle did you take along. Scotty

They supplied all the target. We just brought our rifles, ammo and chow.

I've always wanted to attend such a course. I'm certain it would be beneficial. I can imagine that you enjoyed the instruction; I know that I would enjoy it.

I took my 308 and around 100 rounds of 155 grain Scenar, whereas my buddy took his well used 300 Win Mag and 100 rounds of 210 Berger VLD's. The instructor commented on the look of my friend's rifle. This thing had been in so many hunt that the finish on the HS Precision PST stock was a bit worn and the butt plate had been duct tape. The instructor brought along his trusty M24 loaded with 168 grain Match. What really surprised me was the scope on this M24. I expected to see a 10X Unertl, instead I saw a Millet. :? Well, what the hell do I know.

That sure looks like a fun outing. I would jump all over a class like that if there was one local here.
Was it windy, the canopies look like parachutes.
