Packed into the high country here in Washington's Cascades for a couple of nights. Was hoping for a mulie buck, or at least a black bear. No such luck, but it was a great time up in the mountains! Regards, Guy

Beautiful country!! Thank you for posting the photos. To me, there is nothing better than photos to tell a story of the hunt.

Guy,

You are hunting in a very beautiful spot. Sorry that the bears didn't cooperate. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Wow that is some beautiful country thank for the pics. As long as you had fun thats all that matters.

Guy,
Absolutely beautiful country as stated above !! Just making the pre-season that much tougher and can't wait to get out.

Guy, even if you didn't get your animals, just being there must have been great and relaxing. Auwsome country.

Guy,

Is that in the Alpine lakes area? That is very buitiful and thanks for posting the pictures. I have a question though, do you have to get a permit to hunt up in the Alpine lakes for high buck like during the summer?

Corey

I was up north, in the Pasayten Wilderness.

I don't know if that Alpine Lakes Wilderness camping permit pertains for the high buck season or not - might well be worth a call to the ranger district and/or the WDFW.

From reports I'm getting from other High Buck season hunters, I should have hunted the second week, with cooler temps - and maybe should have gone elsewhere too... That last is hard to say, as I think there were deer in my area, just holding tight in the cool, dense areas by the creek instead of being out where I could find 'em during the day.

Regards, Guy

Beautiful country .....but .......... you have to be a half breed to hunt up there ......... 1/2 mountain goat and 1/2 well trained triathlon competitor.

Bet it was a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing the photoss.

I just may have to call on the Alpine lakes. I have always wanted to go backpacking up there, but dread having to put in for a camp sight. But if hunting you don't need one I could kill two birds one hike.

Too bad I was not closer.
