Bear Rifle 2014, you vote !

Typical adult bear in our area seems to be about 300-350 pounds. A 400 pound bear is certainly possible, but they aren't common here in Central Washington.

Shots from a few feet, out to 300+ yards are common. I'm fine at 300+ with either the .30-06 or the .375 H&H. With the .30-30 I'd limit myself to 200 yards at most. Great little rifle though.

If you want a bigger black bear, hunt Vancouver Island, BC. Many black bear and high weights.
