I believe they are Black Bear but a great big one. Thanks for sharing. I saw a brown phase black bear just before I did my 300 yd photo and it was a beauty of about 275/300 lb. last Thursday. I hunted that area for bear last year but it must of been shy then. :roll:

Here in MI, a 5" pad on a black bear is a 350 lb+ bear. A 6" pad would be a wopper for sure.

Bears are cool. Driving home from Vancouver Island last evening, we saw twelve bears. One was quite a big colour phase fellow. Hopefully, I'll get out this week and do a little bear hunting. It is snowing today. Looks like about four inches on the ground. At least the coats will still be in good shape when we find them.

If in CO, 99.9% odds it's a Black. Still waiting for that day to see a Griz here......unfortunately it'll be the Wolf instead :evil:
