I just ordered some 250gr WFN Beartooth bullets for my 44 Rem Mag. I was going to go with 300's, but I think the hard cast 250gr should do everything I will ever carry the Super Blackhawk against. Anyhow, wonder if you all have any good loads for cast. I am looking for some hunting loads, and speeds you were able to get out of them. My SBH has a 7.5" barrel. Also, if any of you have taken any game with the hard cast bullet, I am pretty interested in the details. I think the 45-70 and 44 Rem Mag will get some hard cast run through them. Never used cast, so I think this is a good opportunity! Scotty

My 250gr cast loads have been with SWC style bullets, but 10.0grs of Unique and 19.0-21.0grs of 2400 have been accurate, 19.0grs has been the most consistent. The Unique load is right around 1000fps, the 19.0grs 2400 is right around 1200fps.

Just recently I have started shooting the 310gr WFNGC from Oregon Trail over H110 - WOW! GB300WB set me up with what he is loading and while I have not quite found the accuracy I have with the Unique load, a 2" group standing with a 2 hands hold at 22yds should work for the 310gr bullet. I have another charge or two to try and I think I will have it nailed down. Don't know what it is running, from the reading should be from 1150fps-1250fps. Certainly an attention getter from a 4 5/8" barrel.

That sounds like a great load! I am thinking the 250gr WFN should be a great all around 44 Rem Mag load, plus, I would hope to get an exit from the bullet. I have a ton of 240gr Nosler JHP's, but looking at how large they expand, it seems an exit might be a little tough. Scotty
