Been some good calling lately

The last few days have been great. Very cold and perfect for calling. Went out with a buddy a couple days ago and I called in a double on the first set but my friend got the fever and missed them both. Well, he nicked one. It yipped a bit but we tracked it in the snow and it was barely hit and got away. Next set I called in another double and laid the hammer on both of them. Nothing feels better that a true double!!!

Yesterday I went out and got another double on the second set and a single later that day. Thats 10 so far for me I just wish the weather was a bit better this winter. It's either been too snowy or too sloppy for really good hunting but every time it calms down and gets cold those dogs respond well. Gotta love it.

These were all sleuced with a 55 grn B-tip at 3700fps in my Tikka T3 lite .243

Shots ranged from 100-200 yards

Good times in E. WA... done a little damage over there myself back in the day.

.243 shooting 55's is a coyote madman... good load... good shooting.

Keep after'em...

Gut,

Nicely done, way to go!
The 243 Win is one of the best for coyotes.
I have only doubled once and it should have been a triple but I missed the third one!
I have been out twice so far and all I have got is fresh air.

Nice work! Love them doubles.

Wished they were coming to my call like that, lately that hasn't been the case though.

243 w/55's is a great yote round.

Nice work! Thinking that after two years of hard hunting on our place all the stupid ones are gone, or have been educated. Need to start talking to some neighbors about hunting their place.

Lotta folks dont realize the great table fare their missing out on with the coyotes & Pd's they shoot. Perfect for breakfast sausage too..

Way to fill up that freezer Gutpile and thank for sharing..

Gut,

Update for ya,

The 257 Roberts spoke late this afternoon, and with authority!
I called in a nice big female with a prime coat, hit her at 75 yds with a 110 gr AB.

Awesome pictures and great shooting.

Sounds like you might have enough rifle for those yotes in MI Jim... Scotty

I'd love to have a bob!!

Good show, Jim. You've induced me to get out and do a bit of yodel dog hunting. If it warms up a bit, I'll grab my Bob and head for the fields to see if I can seduce a coyote. -32 is a bit chilly, however.

Yeah, I hope to get out and do some hunting this coming week. I was just informed today that there is a $500 bounty on wolves in AB and that the cattlesmen are paying a $300 bounty here. That would help support my habit. Coyote pelts are $25 right now, so a few of them wouldn't be bad either. I'll pull out the 257 Roberts and see what I can do.

Mike,

The 257 Roberts will work like a champ!

Man, that makes it fairly profitable to hunt predators. 25 for yotes isn't bad, but imagine after the 257 smacks them down, they are a little mangled. Should be sweet for wolves though. Scotty

Well, hopefully I'll be able to get out and make a report. It does help pay for gas and replace powder and bullets.

Jim,

Keep posting those pictures. Man, that is making my blood hot to get out there. Good show with that Bob.
