Friends-

This in all likelyhood is not a new topic but, I just want to go on record as begging and groveling for a 140 grain E-Tip bullet in .264/6.5mm.

Thanks in advance.

+1 on the 120gr... actually a tad lighter would suit me better, but..... I wouldn't complain...

A 140 gr E-Tip would be a long bullet. My guess wouold be Nosler will offer a 120-125 gr E-Tip for starters.

This is an old thread but now that we have the 120 gr E Tip announced I'm looking forward to trying them one day. Should be able to get 2900 fps pretty easy in the 260 Rem, in the 264 WM it would be a real screamer, 3300-3400 I'm guessing safely.

Gerry - let's neck a .300 Ultra Mag down to 6.5, and shove that 120 E-Tip downrange as hard as we can.

You get to pull the trigger, I'll be the photographer, from a safe distance. My first aid card is up to date...

I'm thinking it would be a screaming flat-trajectory, lethal on about anything sort of round. The barrel might even make it 500 - 600 rounds!

I'm sure someone has done that very thing :) yeah the barrel life would be short.

Gerry - yeah I was being silly, but since even Remington went down to 7mm on the big RUM case, I'll bet someone else has made a 6.5 RUM... Talk about overbore!

That 120 ET outta the 264 should be a SCREAMER for a long way out there. I run the 140 AB's and BT's at 3200, so I can't imagine what the 120's would do. 130 AB's will do 3350 pretty easily and those are screamers as well..

That might be one you would try Scotty, Nosler rates it as having a .497 bc and at 3400 fps it would be a flatliner. When they show up in Canada I'll pick up a box for the 260 Rem.

...see "6.5 STW", based on the 8mm RM case, longer to the shoulder, slightly smaller Dia. than the RUM, case caps pretty similar. These big cases/ small bullets put you right up against the "wall of diminishing returns", but it's still around 200fps+ on the .264 WM. A high BC 130-140gr. 6.5 @ 3300-3500fps would be damnscary, barrel life probably "minimal"...

I can't imagine doing more powder behind the 6.5 bullets than what the WSM or Win Mag give. Granted, it would be a screamer, but the 264 with the ET would be pretty awesome.

I don't have the ET in my profile yet, but the 120 BT

Well the 120 loaded in the 260 would take it up to the next level I have taken big stuff with mine and the 125 Partition although probably not the best bullet for animals over 400 pounds it never let me down ever. The 120 e tip should by rights do what the 140 Partition does when I run into a moose while deer hunting or a way bigger black bear shows up than I was expecting. Been loading them for my best buddy for his 7 Rem mag for a couple of years now first in 150 grain over Retumbo for 3160 fps and now in 140 grain over Rl-22 for 3280 fps. Everything shot with them has gone straight down and the performance has been dramatic even on elk and moose. I have been able to get accuracy in that rifle like you would expect from ballistic tips and they do have excellent BC's. Nosler really has it right with this bullet I saw enough issues with the barnes bullets not expanding (the regular TSX hollow point) and the new TTSX blowing pedals off at shorter ranges when driven out of a 300 short mag. Just waiting for some 200 grainers for the 338 ultra and hum um well ya know  model 70 in 338 win that gets here Sunday guess I have to post a picture for all you mod 70 guys eh. Spending my birthday Sunday loading and shooting, shooting and loading wife told me we are going down to the farm this weekend and I am not allowed to do any work out side of shooting gophers which are a plague that can't be cured no matter how much ammo I burn. Shooting all my hunting rifles at the range on the farm. getting the smoker going smoking some chickens drinking some beers bbq and buying her something nice for mothers day LOL

Sorry for the hijack guys More e tips please Nosler awesome bullets.

338, happy early birthday if I miss you.

That's great info on the ET. I still have yet to get a rifle up and running on them, just cause I have been so hooked on PT's and AB's, but I might have to break out a rifle and give them a try...

Hope you have a great Sunday loading and eating. Sounds like a great day to me.
