My buddy and I built a single shot 460 Weatherby to shoot bears with over bait. It had a 1.25" straight 28" long barrel. We use to shoot 300gr Cutting Edge bullets we modified to basically break apart. We use to shoot them at 3400fps. It was wicked on bears. We also did a 500 A-Square.

I do have a 460 reamer for such project. I wanted to do a single shot 460 for some time.
If I was to do it again from the beginning I'd probaby do it on a 37XC case for better brass. I still have the barrel and action (currently on a 30-338 Lapua Imp) so it would be easy to bring it back to life. I shot a bear in the neck shoulder junction with that gun as it climbed on the bait barrel. It literally made the bear like a blob of Jello as it slid down the hill. Pretty impressive performance.
